Viking for a day

One thing about the YHA movement is that our hostels are more often than not really superbly located and offer our students the ‘Wow’ factor. YHA Borrowdale is a case in point.

Situated in a much appreciated beauty spot in the heart of the English Lakes there are wonderful mountain views. There is a river passing through the estate and extensive gardens and pastures.

Our groups enjoy many local walking routes, as well as the long-distance Coast-to-Coast path and the Cumbria Way.

There are cosy log fires in winter and river bathing in crystal clear water during the summer .

Guests will enjoy the excellent facilities of a main Lakeland YHA, with a games room and TV Lounge, yet our guests report on how the hostel has retained a warm, friendly and informal atmosphere.
