Just a few yards from the Blue Flag St Brides Bay beaches Broad Haven YHA is situated in its own grounds and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.


Our YHA offers  a wonderland for pupils with the safe beaches of St Brides Bay nearby having boat trips to nearby islands with an exciting range of activities


Whether you spend your days horse riding, climbing and abseiling, sea kayaking, surfing, canoeing or windsurfing, you can be sure of an amazing time at YHA Broad Haven.


All these activities can be arranged at our modern hostel.

The YHA Broad Haven has both private and dormitory ensuite bedrooms the majority of which have bunk beds along with There is also a TV Lounge and Games room.




Meals and light snacks are served in the conservatory restaurant whilst for self catering guests there is also a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.

All our food is prepared with seasonal, ingredients, locally sourced, where possible, prepared and cooked to order. Flexible meal times fit your itinerary and, with prior notice, we can cater for any special dietary requests.

Our ‘Outside the Classroom’ tours reflect the location and the environment of our YHA Hostels – however – we are anxious to emphasise that, within reason, we are able to tailor make the content of your tour to meet your specific requirements. You can balance study with activity and there is always a degree of ‘pick and mix.’




One of our team of experienced and knowledgeable educators is available to visit you school to discuss your requirements. Only when agreement has been reached will your final itinerary be confirmed.

With the option to enjoy a variety of activities on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast.


Learn new skills such as horse riding, sailing, surfing, coasteering and kayaking whilst enjoying the surroundings of one of Britain’s most beautiful and spectacular stretches of coastline. With the different types of activities available, you will never be short of something to do at YHA Broad Haven.

Key Stage 3


Subjects Material.


Green Shoots provides seven environmental activities with each module lasting around half a day and designed to be fun and interactive. Topics covered include: sustainability, energy, transport, waste, food, water and tourism.

Key Stages 2 and 3.


Subject Material.


Pupils become detectives as they investigate the common life of rock pools and the ecosystems of sand dunes.


They will see the rock formations of the cliffs and bays from a boat. They follow ‘water from source to the sea’ creating river profiles and researching flow rates as well as studying the varying habitats along the river.




Environmental change and sustainable development.


Course Levels:


Key Stages 2, and 3.


Subject Material.


Pupils go by canoe on an expedition to discover the secret wildlife of the Cilgerran gorge and then investigate the diversity of the Teifi Marshes.


They explore the National Park Woodland Centre and see the links between people, environmental change and the uses of timber. They can then relax and enjoy Meg and Mot’s environmental puppets.
